William A. Klingensmith

September 1, 1988 — September 9, 2017

It is with immense sorrow and sadness that the family of William “BillDozer” Alexander Klingensmith of Homer City, PA announces his tragic passing, on Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at the age of 29 years.

William, rather known as BillDozer, Dozer, Bill or Billy, was born on September 1, 1988 in Latrobe, Pa. He graduated from Homer Center High School in 2007.

Billy loved life. He made everyday count. Whether he was riding the motorcycle with his girlfriend, tinkering with engine parts, playing with the dog, listening to music, or spending time with his friends, he made everyday a day to remember. Billy was one of a kind. He was a friend, a brother, a son, a nephew, a cousin, a grandson, but more importantly he was the life of the party. When Billy was around there was never a dull moment. He was a jokester and a true kid at heart. You could always find him getting himself (and others) into mischief. Yet, he was always finding ways to put a smile on others faces. If you weren't laughing you weren't around him long enough. Not only was Billy extremely comical he was a big family man. He loved his family like no other. To him family wasn't chosen only by blood. Family was chosen based on relationships. Billy had more close friends and family than anyone could imagine. The Sarnovsky's were especially close to him. They were his second family and he cherished them and loved them as much as he loved his own. Billy was the type of person that others gravitated towards. His inviting smile and contagious laughter is something that will never be forgotten. His sense of humor will live on through countless memories of those who loved him most.

Billy wasn't afraid of what the future held for him. He embraced it. His most recent adventure included attending a truck driving school called Careers Worldwide in Keenesburg, Co. After completing school he was immediately employed by Stevens Transport of Dallas, TX. Billy traveled the US with Stevens Transport and was fortunate enough to see at least 35 states in a few short months. He was in awe by the beauty each state had to offer, which fueled his passion for the trucking industry. During his time on the road, he adopted his lifelong companion, a pit-bull name Maddy. Billy and Maddy were inseparable. Eventually, he decided he was ready to settle down with his love, Liz. Billy then got hired at CTI & Coordinators in Saltsburg, Pa. Which is where he was able to carry out the work he loved and be the family man he always wanted to be.

Billy is survived by the love of his life and soulmate Elizabeth (Liz) Sarnovsky along with their pets, Maddy and Winry of Blairsville, Pa; his mother, Darla R. (Culp) Klingensmith and older brother, Robert C. Klingensmith Jr., both of Homer City, PA; his best friend, partner in crime and younger sister, Christin R. Klingensmith (Kenneth) of Indiana, Pa; his cousin, Kaitlin A. Mohr (Peter) and their daughter, Audrina M. Mohr of Murrysville, Pa; his maternal grandfather, William O. Culp of Blairsville, Pa, and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Billy was preceded in death by his father Robert C. Klingensmith Sr. in 2011; his aunt, Lisa G. Zellefrow; his paternal grandparents, Rita M. (Dosch) Klingensmith and Calvin A. Klingensmith, and his maternal grandmother, Darlene M. (Nicholson) Culp.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Thursday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville, with Rev. John Buchmann officiating.
