Elaine M. Jones

Elaine M. (Mittermeier) Jones, 79, of Julian, PA (formerly of Blairsville, PA) passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College, PA.

The daughter of John and Angela (Finnigan) Mittermeier, she was born November 13, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Mrs. Jones was a former member of the Blairsville United Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Westmoreland Cattleman’s Association.

She worked with her husband, C. Paul Jones, on their farm and with his auction business.

Surviving are her daughter, Martha Rutledge (Ed) of Julian; a good friend, Thomas Patterson of Julian; two stepchildren, Cheryl L. Cowie (Bob) of Hotchkiss, CO and Ken Jones of Vandergrift; two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great-great grandson; and a sister, Patricia Massart of Lee’s Summit, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C. Paul Jones in 1996; a sister, Jeanne Brokamp and an infant sister.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum, PA with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.
