Andrew James “Andy” Cessna, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 20, 2026, at Beacon Ridge. He was born on November 18, 1944, to the late Wayne Carl Sr. and Susan Pearl (Labik) Cessna.
Andy was a unique individual who found joy in the things he loved most. He attended Punxsutawney Area High School and will be remembered for his special interests, his love of animals, and the little things that made him who he was. Animals held a very special place in Andy’s heart. His beloved dog, Casper, and his six cats were much more than pets to him; they were his family. He loved and cared for them as if they were his own children, giving them the affection, comfort, and companionship that brought so much meaning to his life. His love for them was a reflection of the caring heart he carried with him.
Mr. Cessna was also a former bell ringer for the Salvation Army, giving his time to help others. He had a passion for collecting unusual and interesting things, always finding something special or out of the ordinary that caught his attention. These interests were part of what made Andy one of a kind, and the memories of his unique personality and the things he enjoyed will remain with those who knew him.
Andy will be remembered as someone who followed his own path and found happiness in the things that mattered most to him. His love for his animals, his unique collections, and the memories he shared with family and friends will not be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, and his beloved animals were fortunate to have received so much of his love.
He is survived by his four brothers: Wayne Carl Jr. (Mary Ann) Cessna of Indiana, David (Sang) Cessna of Prince George, Virginia, John (Sharon) Cessna of Punxsutawney, and Raymond (Joan) Cessna of Clarion. Andy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Suzanne L. (Oswald) Cessna in 2022; his parents; and his sisters, Martha Ann Newman and Ruth Marie Cessna.
In keeping with Andy’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Robinson-Lytle- Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N. 7th Street, Indiana, Pennsylvania, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
