Barbara Marlene Waltemire, 78, Homer City, PA passed away on Friday, April 10, 2026, in Indiana, PA.

The daughter of Blaine J. and Emily (Steinman) Waltemire, she was born November 17, 1947, in Blairsville, PA.

Barabara graduated from Penns Manor High School, Class of 1965.

She attended Hope Lutheran Church in Homer City.

She was owner/operator of Brush Valley Corner Market for 16 years and was employed in the research library at the Historical & Genealogical Society of Indiana County for many years.

Barbara loved working on crossword puzzles, reading, and genealogy. She especially loved her sweet little companion Bella.

Surviving are her three children, Dennis E. Bennett (Laura) of Brush Valley, Steven W. Bennett (Becky) of Brush Valley, and Jennifer R. Stahl (Miles) of Armagh; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, John Waltemire (Nancy) of Lucernemines; and a sister, Shirley Friday (Walter) of Homer City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Anna Belle Bennett and a brother, Blaine J. Waltemire, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 6-8 PM at the Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N. 7th St., Indiana. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 15th at 11 AM with Pastor Brandon Mountan officiating.

Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Penn Run, PA.
