Betty Jane Cravener

Betty Jane (Clawson) Cravener, 99, of Blairsville, PA passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026, at home with family.

The daughter of William B. and Mary L. (Suman) Clawson, she was born on January 8, 1927, in Blairsville, PA.

Betty attended the Methodist Church of Black Lick. She graduated from Blairsville High School, Class of 1945, and she went on to work as an Aide at Torrance State Hospital before retiring.

She liked to sew and quilt in her spare time. Betty was also enthusiastic about ballroom dancing, a hobby she shared with her dear husband. In her younger days, she enjoyed riding motorcycles and snow mobiles.

Surviving are her three children, Beverly Ferry of Blairsville, Richard Cravener (Marilyn) of Kissimmee, FL, and Dale Cravener (Sonja) of Derry; three grandchildren, Khris Cravener, Alejandra Miller, and Rebeca Nieves; two great grandchildren; and brother, J. Wayne Clawson of Blairsville.

Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert A. Cravener on February 2, 2021; her parents; and brothers, Dean Clawson and Merle Clawson.

An interment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
