Billy “Binky” Calvin Fridley, 31, of Slickville, PA (Loyalhanna Township), passed away Saturday, October 3, 2026, at his home.
He was born on September 15, 1995, in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of Heidi A. Kelly and Billy J. Fridley.
Billy was a 2015 graduate of Blairsville-Saltsburg High School. He was employed by Strongland Roofing Systems and a proud member of the United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers & Allied Workers, Local #37, Pittsburgh. He was also currently enrolled in Colorado Technical University where he was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He dreamed of having his own roofing company one day.
Billy found joy in the outdoors. He especially loved to fish and took the time to create his own flies, making the hobby more personal. He also enjoyed hunting and swinging a golf club, always appreciating any opportunity to be outside doing the things he loved. Roofing afforded him yet another such opportunity. Billy took tremendous pride in his craft. He was a meticulous worker and greatly appreciated a job that was well done.
Billy was a man of faith. He loved God deeply and talked with Him daily. God filled his tender heart with a great love for others. And Billy’s deepest desire was to pour that love out on those around him. He was a humble man who understood the power of God’s grace, mercy and forgiveness and he longed for others to have this same understanding.
He is survived by his father, Billy J. Fridley; paternal grandmother, Donna D. Fridley; maternal grandmother, Brenda Pizer; aunts and uncles, Wendy and Eric Jasper, Heidi and Leroy Sulksosky, Kerry and Michelle Kelly, Gerald and Jodi Kelly, Emily Pizer; Rebecca and Mike Gates; five half-sisters, Donna E. Fridley, Kiara Fridley, Mira Fridley, Ayra Fridley and Brea Kelly; half-brother, Brandon Pizer; step-sister, Kathy Torres; nephew, Kwazierre Rollins; numerous cousins; special friends Vivian Jones and Rebecca Reiter; and his beloved pet cats, Cooper and Clouser.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Heidi A. Kelly, on October 31, 2020; infant twin brother, Brenton Fridley; paternal grandfather, Billy G. Fridley; maternal grandfather, Randy Kelly; and maternal step-grandfather, Robert Pizer.
Billy will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Although always small in stature, the loss felt is and will always be monumental. But thankfully, the memories of the time shared with him, the things he enjoyed, and the person he was will remain in the hearts of all those who survive him.
The family will receive friends Friday, October 9, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. and again at 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. Pastor Gerald Mershimer will be officiating.
Interment will take place at a later time in accordance with the family’s wishes.
If so desired, donations to offset funeral costs may be made, in Billy’s name, directly to the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc. 49 N. Walnut St. Blairsville, PA 15717.
