Charles “Pap Charlie” David Brown, 83, of Blairsville, PA (West Wheatfield Township), died on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at home.
The son of Emery O. and Rose J. (Shaffer) Brown, he was born on December 16, 1942, in Iselin, PA (Young Township, Indiana County).
Pap Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Army before going on to work as a machinist in the manufacturing industry.
He married Leah Henry on July 25, 1970, and together, they shared 55 years of happiness.
Pap Charlie loved to spend time outdoors hunting, fishing, and camping with his family in Tionesta. He was a homebody who loved watching and feeding the deer on his property. He could often be found tinkering on tractors and engines in the garage, which was a special hobby that he shared with his family anytime they wanted to help.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Emery Brown and Melvin Brown.
Surviving is his devoted wife, Leah (Henry) Brown; three children, David Brown of Cairnbrook, Melissa Debnar (Shawn Sr.) of Blairsville, and Jessica McAdams (Cloyde) of Blairsville; nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Joshua, Shawn Jr. (Lyndsie), Beverly, Alyssa (Ryan “Goose”), Sebastian, Christopher, Michele (Austin), and Lesley (Hayden); nineteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Ronnie Brown of Harrisburg; and sister, Betty Matthews of Blairsville.
Per the wishes of the family, no services will be held at the funeral home.
Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc. at 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA 15717 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
