Obituary

Cheryl Ann (Saltsman) Miller, 66, of Blairsville, PA passed away peacefully, with her loving husband of 46 years, David, by her side on Monday May 25, 2026, in The Communities of Indian Haven, Indiana, PA.

Born in Punxsutawney on September 12, 1959, to the late Kenneth and Helen (Flory) Saltsman, she moved to Blairsville in her teens and brought her to the love of her life, literally the boy next door. They were married on June 16, 1979. Cheryl and David opened their hearts and home to many English Springer Spaniels, most recently Suzy and Tracey.

Cheryl was a proud graduate of Blairsville High School, Class of 1977, and the Bradford School receiving her associate’s degree in accounting. She was employed by Victory Energy Corporation in Indiana for 33 years, and at Snyder Brothers in Kittanning until she retired in 2025.

She attended The United Presbyterian Church of Blairsville and was active with the Association of Desk and Derrick Clubs, attending many of their national meetings.

Cheryl as an accomplished seamstress, she not only made her wedding gown, but the gowns for the entire bridal party. In the last several years, she made many quilts for her family and friends. She and David loved watching and attending the Pittsburgh Penguins’ games, golfing, traveling and spending time at their home in Treasure Lake.

Surviving is her husband, David Miller of Blairsville; her brothers, Kem Saltsman (Vikki) of Blairsville and James Saltsman of Homer City; a niece, Jessica Saltsman; great niece, Anya; great nephew, Declan; several cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Grace Miller; and two sisters-in-law, Carrie Saltsman and Joanna Saltsman.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 1 PM until the time of the funeral service at 3 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA with Pastor Rusty McClurg officiating.
