Cheryl “Sherrie” Anne (Williams) Okert, 62, of Latrobe, PA (Derry Twp.), passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

The beloved daughter of David and Barbara (Fitzpatrick) Williams, she was born on January 24, 1964, in McKeesport, PA.

Sherrie had a gift for turning simple things into something special. Through her business, Broken Locust, she lovingly crafted herbal teas and seasonings, pouring her heart into every blend. She delighted in cooking for those she loved, watching the birds she fed, and tending her garden. Above all, her greatest joy was her two daughters and her 11 beautiful grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 37 years, Patrick D. Okert, whom she married on May 27, 1989; two cherished daughters, Amber Gruss (John) of Roundhill, VA, and Katey Gonzalez (Roberto) of Blairsville; 11 adored grandchildren, Isaac, Silas, Emma, Jaxon, Zoe, Ivy, Pepper, Gwendolyn, Cain, Maevis, and Olive; and two sisters, Rebecca Williams of Hopewell and Melissa Williams of White Oak.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her parents.

Per Sherrie’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
