Daniel Z. Painter

Daniel Z. Painter, 78, of Indiana, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

A son of the late Sara J. (Stephens) Painter, he was born Sept. 1, 1947, in Indiana.

Dan was a retired coal miner and was always known as a hard worker.

He is survived by his children, Daniel Z. Painter, Jr. and wife Glenda, of Tullahoma, Tenn.; Matthew W. Painter, of Tullahoma, Tenn.; Eric Painter and wife Ashley, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and Shane R. Painter, of Indiana; his siblings, Richard Painter, of Shelocta; Betty Troup, of Indiana; and Sharon Stiles, of Homer City; seven grandchildren, Kristina Chandler, Carie Painter, Kenneth Painter, Anthony Debrowski, Axel Debrowski, Adelaide Debrowski, Audreanne Debrowski; and great grandchildren, Kristian and Elijah.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his siblings Donna Lunetti, Patty Smith and Arthur Painter.

At the request of Daniel, there will be no visitation or services. Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana, has been entrusted with these private arrangements.
