Denzil "Denny" William Wolverton, 61, of Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at his home.
Born in Philipsburg, Pa, on February 2, 1965, Denzil was the son of the late Harvey Wolverton, Sr. and Audrey (Burton) Wolverton.
Denzil was a kind-hearted, outgoing, and friendly man who had a special way of making people feel welcome. He was a social person who enjoyed being around others and was always ready with a smile, a conversation, or a helping hand. Those who knew Denzil will remember him for his warm personality and the genuine care he showed to the people around him.
Denzil's faith was an important part of his life. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Clymer, Pa, where he was part of a church family that meant a great deal to him.
He enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved to read and could often be found with a book in hand. He was also a proud Pittsburgh sports fan, faithfully cheering on his beloved Steelers and Penguins. Whether talking about sports, sharing a good story, or simply spending time with family and friends, Denzil enjoyed the company of others.
One of the things that made Denny special was his willingness to help people. If someone needed a hand, he was often there to help in whatever way he could. His generosity and friendly nature touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Denny is survived by his brothers and sisters: Harvey Wolverton of DuBois, Scotty Wolverton of Honey Brook, David Sirko of Richmond, VA; Randy Wolverton of Houtzdale, Jackie Quackenbush of DuBois, Faith Reed of Maryville, TN; and Linda Wolverton of Houtzdale; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Sean Wolverton.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday August 29, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 11394 PA-286, Clymer, with Pastor Stephen Stockton officiating.
