Doris Marlene Cochran, 70, of Indiana, PA, formerly of Shelocta, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Scenery Hill Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Indiana, PA.
Born September 21, 1955, in Indiana, PA, she was the daughter of Earl and W. Blanche (Lichtenfels) Cochran.
Doris was a longtime member of Shelocta Community Presbyterian Church.
Doris dedicated more than 25 years of her career as an accountant for Head Start. She also enjoyed selling Avon products and had a special love for cooking and baking, including creating beautiful wedding cakes that she generously shared with family and friends. Doris cherished time spent with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle spirit, and the good she saw in everyone and everything around her.
Doris leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her close in their hearts: her two brothers, William E. Cochran and his wife, Miriam, of Penn Run, and Gary R. Cochran of Johnstown; four nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and six great-great-nieces and nephew, all of whom will cherish the many memories they shared with her.
In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Linda Cochran.
Family and friends will be received Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 4 to 7 PM at Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Terry Semsick officiating.
Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana, PA.
Doris will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and generous heart. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
