Edith Mae Scobel

Edith Mae (Baker) Scobel, 84, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, with her daughters by her side. She was just seven shopping days shy of her 85th birthday.

A daughter of Joseph J. and Kathryn E. (Griffith) Baker, she was born on March 14, 1941, in Blairsville, PA, Indiana county.

Edith worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Torrance State Hospital before retiring. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, Pepsi Cola and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, Jeff Baker (Kim Young), Dee Baker-Simon (Paul), and Autumn Rose Shannon (William Jr.); grandchildren, Annie Blue, Joe, Hannah Kate (Hera), Callie Jo, and Colt William (Kara); and siblings, Andy Baker, Edgar Baker (Christine), and Mildred Pittman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Evan Paul; and siblings, Martha Baker, Joseph Baker, Pete Baker, Tass Baker, Art Baker, Peggy Leicht and Dottie K. Baker.

Per her wishes, there will be no memorial service.
