Evelyn V. Myers

Evelyn Virginia (Kitzmiller) Myers, 85, of Derry, PA passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, in Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, PA.

The daughter of Riley and Lula (Aronhalt) Kitzmiller, she was born on November 24, 1938 in Blairsville, PA.

Evelyn graduated from United High School, Class of 1956.

She was a faithful member of the Hillside United Methodist Church, Derry, PA and in her younger years sang in the church choir.

Evelyn loved to vegetable and flower garden and listen to church hymns.

Surviving is her husband of 66 years, William R. Myers whom she married on June 8, 1957; four children, Kenneth Myers (Pam) of Derry, Gary Myers (Jodi) of Derry, Robert Myers (Laurie) of Punxsutawney, and Timothy (Janet) of Hillside; nine grandchildren, Rodney, Kelly, Nicole, Amy, Lexi, Jessica, BJ, Jason and Justin; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline LaMantia of Johnstown; and one brother, James Kitzmiller (Liz) of Black Lick.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, five brothers, Alvin, Ervin, Cecil, Ernie, and Wayne, and three sisters, Dorothy Licht, Loretta Johns, and Eleanor Kitzmiller.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 8th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville.  A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 2 PM with Pastor Jason Schweinberg officiating.

Interment will be in the Germany Lutheran Cemetery, Clyde, PA.
