Gertrude M. Pezzoni

Gertrude Mae (Lengel) Pezzoni, 92, of Brenizer, PA passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, in Concordia at Weatherwood, Greensburg, PA.

The daughter of William R. and Lula I. (Zimmerman) Lengel, she was born January 5, 1933, in Pine Grove Twp., PA.

Gertrude was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, and Hilltop Quilters.

She graduated from Pine Grove High School, Class of 1951 and was a graduate of Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1953. Gertrude worked at Latrobe Area Hospital, Latrobe, PA for 34 years until her retirement in 1992.

Gertrude enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, reading, quilting, crocheting and traveling.

Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Territ (Robert) of Greensburg, and Judith Ann Swigart (David) of Greensburg; four grandchildren, Lauren Ann Succheralli, Rachel C. King (Andrew), John A. Swigart, and Andrea Mae Territ; five great grandchildren, Emma, Andrew, Ariel, Kristina, and Lucas; three sisters, Janet I. Miller of Lebanon, Patricia A. Weckle of Pine Grove, and Sandra S. Kelley of Sand Coulee, MT; her brother, William R. Lengel of Lincoln, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 55 years, Andrew Pezzoni on October 10, 2010.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. The funeral service will be held at the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville on Tuesday, April 15th at 1 PM with Pastor John Smaligo officiating.

Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
