MOTHER
Sometimes we call her “Mother“, A lady tried and true; Sometimes, it’s “Mom,” or “Mum,” or “Ma,” Most anything will do.
Though she has lots to think about, Like any mother would; It’s so surprising what she knows, Her mem’ry is quite good.
She knows so much about her kids, Their age, their size, their weight; Their grades in school, when homework’s due, I think it’s really great.
There’s other facts and figures, too…It’s quite the thing to see; She knows the date, the time, the place, Each joined the fam’ly tree.
But there’s one thing that puzzles me, Perhaps you’ve seen it too; Sometimes, when just one child she wants, She runs the whole list through.
It’s George, it’s Joe, it’s Wes, it’s John, It’s Tom or Dick or Harry; She mentions ev’ry name she knows, When all she wants is, Mary.
But, best of all, I’d like to note, Of mother’s everywhere; A Christian mom will not forget, To call our names in prayer!
