Harvey (Buck) Francis Yingling, Sr., 94, of Whitestation, PA (Indiana County), died on Saturday, January 31, 2026, in Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.
The son of Harley “Toots” and Margaret (Warner) Yingling of Medina, OH, he was born on September 20, 1931, in Houtzdale, Clearfield County, PA.
Buck attended grade school and high school in Saltsburg, PA, and proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was a medic in the Korean War. He worked in the coal mines, and he was part of the road crew on 981 in New Alexandria. He was also employed by Newburgh and South Shore Railroad, and he ultimately retired from IUP, where he worked in maintenance.
He married Elaine Wagner in April of 1955 in Toledo, OH, and together, they shared 64 years of happiness before her passing.
Buck enjoyed coaching softball, gardening, fishing with his kids, traveling, hosting bus tours to New York, and hunting. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He made the best vanilla and peanut butter fudge. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Elaine (Wagner) Yingling; his parents; and sisters, Eunice Wilson and Geri Cyrulik.
Surviving are his five children, Robert Yingling (Diane) of West Mifflin, Harvey F. Yingling, Jr. (Bonnie) of Blairsville, Pamela Yingling May (Randy) of Clarksburg, Michelle Yingling Clawson (Jeffrey) of Saltsburg, and Kenneth Yingling (fiancé Dee Marie Amarillas) of Blairsville; thirteen grandchildren, Robbie Yingling, Dylan Yingling, and David Yingling of Pittsburgh, Dustin Yingling of Latrobe, Logan May of Avonmore, Lee May of Clarksburg, Austin Clawson, Benjamin Clawson, Cody Clawson, and Dalton Clawson of Saltsburg, and Colton Yingling, Kennedy Yingling, and Casen Yingling of Blairsville; eleven great grandchildren, Deacan, Ryker, Ezra, Parker, Jackson, Tommy, Audrey, Tully, Preston, Gavin, and Nevaeh; brother, Butch Yingling; and several nephews and nieces in Ohio.
Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc. at 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA 15717 has been entrusted with the arrangements.
