Helen E. Martin

Helen E. Martin, 98, of Indiana, passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2025, at her home.

A daughter of the late Jennings Wade and Erma (Sell) Martin, she was born March 22, 1927, in Indiana.

Helen retired from Quaker State as a bookkeeper. She loved wildlife and horses. While living on the family farm, she had her own horse. She was a farmer through and through. Helen also loved gardening and Lady, the dog. She enjoyed many bus trips to casinos, traveling as far as California and Nevada to try her luck. If you knew Helen, you knew you would never leave her house hungry.

She is survived by five nieces and nephews: Jeffrey S. Martin and wife Candace, of Beaver; Michael B. Ziner and wife Sherry, of Indiana; Gregory T. Martin and wife Barbara, of Woodland, TX; Beverly A. Evans and husband Brian, of Beaver Falls; David Martin Ziner, of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Drenning W. Martin, three sisters: Martha Lauffer, Mary Jane Ziner, Nancy L. Pounds; and a niece, Vicky Carr.

Friends and family will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2025 at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N. 7th Street, Indiana, with Pastor Douglas Snyder officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
