Joann Ferraro

Joann (Barsis) Ferraro, 92, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.

The daughter of Joseph and Anna Fuchs, she was born December 14, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Joann was a faithful member of the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville and worked for 34 years as a waitress at the Chestnut Ridge Inn on the Green, Blairsville, retiring in 2000.

She enjoyed watching her programs on television and loved spending time with her great grandchildren.

Surviving are two children, daughter, Barbara Salva (David) of Blairsville and son, Michael Ferraro of Wexford, two grandchildren, Jessica Leschinsky and Nicole Jacobs, and three great grandchildren, Owen, Lily and Emma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Peter Ferraro on May 1, 2002, four brothers, Joseph Fuchs, Alvin Fuchs, Rudy Barsis and Edwin Barsis and two sisters, Lillian and Josephine Krofick.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at 2:00 P.M. in the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.

Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
