Leona Arlene (Fetzer) Stephens

Leona Arlene (Fetzer) Stephens, 90, of Indiana, passed away on Sunday August 03, 2025 at The Communities at Indian Haven.

Born in Nanty Glo, Cambria County, on December 17, 1934, Leona was the daughter of the late Charles and Viola (Rager) Garver Fetzer. She was the wife of the late Paul F. Stephens, who passed away on July 25, 2009. The couple were wed on May 08, 1954. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

For decades, Leona worked as a seamstress for Van Heusen Shirt Factory in Northern Cambria. Mrs. Stephens attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Indiana where she taught Sunday School and was also a member of Methodist Women of Faith. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, crocheting, knitting and sewing. For years, Leona sewed for many people in the Indiana area and nearby communities.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Paul M. Stephens and his wife, Betty of Indiana; granddaughter, Melissa Pantall and husband, Cecil of Indiana; great-grandchildren, Zoe Lynn Pantall and Cecil Robert Pantall. Leona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Paul F. Stephens; three still-born sons; a new born son; Bruce E. Stephens; grandson, Jason Stephens; and 11 siblings, Beatrice (Boyd) Boring, Violet (Willard) Mack, Robert (Vivian) Garver, Hazel (Walt) Michaels, Dean (Betty) Fetzer, Rita (Pete) McGuire, Charles (Virginia) Fetzer, Clyde (Jane) Fetzer, Harold Fetzer, Willard (Irene) Fetzer, and Donald Fetzer.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 13, 2025 from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM at the Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th St., Indiana with additional visitation held on Thursday August 14, 2025 from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 398 Church St, Indiana with Rev. Pat Lenox and Rev. Greg Golden officiating. Interment will be at Pineland Cemetery, Strongstown.
