Lillian Lorraine Greene Moody, 82, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, she was born March 27,1943 at home in Lucernemines.
Moving to Indiana in 1953, Lorraine attended and graduated from Indiana High School in 1961. In 1963, she married her high school sweetheart Thomas Moody. After raising their three children she worked along with her husband at Metals Forming in Indiana and Lynx Inc. in Latrobe. She was a member of Ernest Bible Church for 27 years, where she taught Sunday School, bible school and Jr. Church. Her desire was to teach children to pray. Lorraine’s last years were dedicated to attending Nazarene Church, in Homer City, with the church family that she grew up with.
Surviving her are her husband of 62 years Thomas Moody; two sons: Thomas Moody, Jr. (Deanna), of Newton, NC; Stephen Moody, of Indiana and daughter Michelle (Gary) Hankinson, of Indiana; seven grandchildren: Jessica (Logan) King, of NC; Christopher (Kristen) Moody, of NC; Austin (Chloe) Moody, of Indiana; Lauren Hankinson, of Indiana; Noah (Sarah) Moody, of Indiana; Charlie (McKinna) Moody, of NC and Jenna Moody, of NC. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Carson, Casey, Mira, Nora, Keni and Kane; sister, Elva Fleming, of Indiana; brother, Ed (Bev) Greene, of Mesa, AZ; brother-in-law, Lincoln Shaffer, of Roaring Springs; Harold Moody, of Ocala, FL; and sister-in-law, Mary Miconi, of Ocala, FL.
In addition to her parents, James and Gertrude (Steffey) Greene; and her in-laws, Thomas and Dorothy Moody, she was preceded in death by brothers; Elwood and Rev. Harry Greene; sisters; Yvonne Wilson and Louise Shaffer.
Lorriane was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, “MeMe,” and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for her family—no one left with an empty stomach and had leftovers to take home, coloring on her iPad, and camping with her husband and friends in Marionville—playing “spinners” and Scrabble. Most of all, Lorraine was a devout Christian who never missed a day of reading her Bible and spending time with the Lord, which brings her family peace knowing she is with Him in Heaven. She will be missed greatly.
