Loretta M. Gamble, 98, of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of the late John Morgan and Ethel Marie Ling Reeger, she was born June 2, 1922, in Listie, Somerset County.
Mrs. Gamble was a homemaker. She was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Jolly Seniors and was known as the “Hat Lady”. Mrs. Gamble loved the color red and enjoyed gardening, canning and helping out with the Brush Valley Historical Book.
She is survived by five children: Carol L. Detwiler and husband Wes, of Homer City; Martha E. Cameron and husband Homer, of Homer City; Ruth A. Wagner and husband Douglas, of York; Larry D. Gamble and wife Karen, of Indiana; Daniel P. Gamble and wife Amy, of Indiana; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Gamble; a brother, John Reeger and wife Alta, of Brush Valley; a sister-in-law, Ruth Reeger; 16 grandchildren: Dana Detwiler, Danielle Krevetski and husband Gregg, Todd Detwiler and wife Khristi, Curt Gamble, Scott Gamble, Tonya Cochran and husband James, Shawn Cameron and wife Aimee, Chris Cameron and wife Jennie, Lori Sheasley and husband Kevin, Chad Wagner, MaCall Perez and husband Frank, Mallori Crowther and husband Jason, Billie Jo Lamb and husband Jerry, Larry Gamble and wife Kelly, Joseph Stapleton and Ethan Gamble; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson L. Gamble; a son, Emerson M. Gamble; six siblings: John Reeger, Dwight Reeger, Fern Colgan, Pearl Reeger, Medis Reeger and Warren M. Reeger; two grandsons, David Gamble, Brian Cameron; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. Friday at Hilltop Baptist Church, with Pastor Jack Lucas officiating. Due to concerns of COVID-19, masks will be required. Private interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home.
