Margaret A. "Peggy" Mocek

Margaret Ann “Peggy” Hineman Mocek, 94, of Black Lick, PA passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA.

The daughter of Edward C. and Carrie I. (Steffy) Hineman, she was born on November 14, 1930, in Punxsutawney, PA.

Peggy was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Coral, where she was involved with Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Black Lick Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and a Breast Cancer Survivor group.

She worked at the former Heck’s department store for 12 years.

Peggy loved going to the senior center where she would meet with friends and participate in various activities.

Surviving is her daughter, Susan Platt (Bill) of Blairsville; her son, Stephen Mocek (Kimberly) of Black Lick; six grandchildren, Stacie Mocek, Travis Platt, Kyle Platt, Thomas Mocek, Alexander Mocek, and Theodore Mocek; four great grandchildren, Skyler, Cody, Jacob, and Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Theodore Mocek on January 10, 2002, her sons, Thomas Michael Mocek in 1968 and Joseph T. Mocek in 2015, her sister, Mary Jane Beer, and her grandson, Micheal Mocek in 2017.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4-7 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, May 31st at 11 AM with Rev. John A. Pavlik, OFM, Cap, officiating.

Interment will be in the SS Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
