Marilyn J. (Good) Howell, 90, of Indiana, completed her lifetime here on earth on Sunday August 03, 2025.
Marilyn was a life long resident of Indiana. She grew up on Good’s Hatchery & Poultry Farm on East Pike Rd. with her parents, Ernest L. Good and Mary E. (Garretson) Good and her sisters Melda A. Bengston and Joan L. Allwine.
Marilyn loved the farm and told many stories about her life experiences there. She married Lester W. Howell on December 22, 1956 and they had five children together; Patricia, Michael, Kimberly, Jeffrey and Mark. Marilyn and Lester enjoyed their early family years raising five children. After everyone was enrolled in school, Marilyn went to work as an Avon Representative for 42 years. Mrs. Howell raised a large garden every year, canning everything to feed her large family. She enjoyed working in the yard, camping with her family and friends and helping her husband with the family business, Howell Auto Repair. She was an avid sports fan but really loved her Pittsburgh Steelers. Marilyn was affectionately known as “Mom Howell” to all of her children’s friends and her door was always open.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 45 years, Lester W. Howell; one grandson; and numerous extended family members. She is survived by five children, three daughters-in-law, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several fur-babies. The family will hold a private graveside service. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th St., Indiana, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Marilyn’s family would like to extended a special thank you to the staff at St. Andrew’s Village and Grane Hospice for the excellent care and kindness they provided to Marilyn.
