Mary Ellen Gill

Mary Ellen Gill, 83 of Bealeton,VA passed away on November 25, 2023 with her family at her side.

She was born November 20, 1940 in Burrell Township, Indiana, PA to the late George E. Jones Sr, and Georgia M. Gill Jones.

She graduated from Blairsville Joint High School in 1958 and Robert Morris School (Secretarial Division) in 1959.

She married Raymond D. Gill on November 26, 1960 in Blairsville, PA. He preceded her in death September 1, 2008.

They lived in Blairsville and Latrobe, PA over the years.

Mary Ellen worked as an office manager for Grant’s Department Store in addition to many secretarial positions before moving to Manassas, VA in 1983.

In later years, she retired from Safeway and moved to Bealeton in 2015.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Velma Marron, George Jones Jr,  and LaVerna Rolka.

Mary Ellen is survived by a daughter Kimberly Dietzen (David); grandchildren Robert Dietzen (Ashley), and Casey Iames (Robert) in addition to great-grandchildren Katherine, Molly, Robert, Madelyn, and Ellie; brothers-in-law Robert Gill and Walter Gill (Shirley), sister-in-law Dianna Bush (Don), many nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved grand dogs.

The family will receive friends at Liberty United Methodist Church, 10513 Old Marsh Rd, Bealeton, VA, 22712 on Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 2:00 to 3:00pm. A Memorial Service will follow at 3pm with reception in social hall immediately after.

Interment will take place on Monday, December 4 at 2:00pm at Blairsville, Pennsylvania Cemetery.
