Michael Dillin Parr, 82, of Blairsville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in the comfort of his home, with his loving wife by his side.

He was born on May 24, 1944, in Baltimore, MD, the son of the late William P. and Frances D. (Heath) Parr.

Michael was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business, Class of 1967, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.

Michael dedicated 20 years of service to the U.S. Department of the Treasury before retiring in 2011.

Michael found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially time spent near the ocean. He treasured trips to the Outer Banks, crabbing, and sharing good seafood. He also enjoyed being outdoors, taking pride in caring for his home and landscaping. Michael loved to travel and attend concerts and shows of all genres, and he cherished his dogs, Charger and Pixie, who were his constant companions.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 21 years, Susan L. (Rager) Parr, whom he married on April 15, 2005; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents.

In keeping with Michael’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at Penn Hospice, especially Michelle for the love, support, and kindness shown during this time. Michael will be remembered with deep affection, and his memory will remain a lasting comfort to all who knew and loved him.
