Nancy Lee (Short) Smith, 83, of Indiana, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Beacon Ridge in Indiana.

A daughter of the late John Short and Margaret E. Quick, she was born June 8, 1942, in Latrobe.

Nancy was a member of the Lighthouse Morning Star Ministries in Commodore. She thoroughly enjoyed being a homemaker – doing laundry, cleaning house and all the tasks that go along with running a home.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Lee Smith, of Indiana; siblings: Marie Cochran, of Florida; Linda Slesman, of Donegal; Betty Murphy, of Blairsville; Roberta Ross, of Blairsville; George Murphy, of Homer City; Robert Murphy, of Homer City; Kathy Crawford, of Chambersville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred A. Smith; a brother, Thomas Murphy and a sister, Darleen Murphy.

Friends and family will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana, with Pastor John Manon officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
