Obituary

Patricia Marie (Quick) Merritt, 86, of Buffalo, Kansas, passed away on Friday October 23, 2026 at St. Andrew’s Village, Indiana. Patricia was the wife of the late Robert Merritt.

Born on June 27, 1940 in Tunnelton, PA, Patricia was the daughter of the late Clair B. and Geraldine M. (Fink) Quick. For the last 25 years Patricia lived in Kansas, but before that she worked many years as a dry cleaner in Indiana. Pat was best known for her baking skills and will be fondly remembered for her famous apple dumplings. In her free time, she loved bird watching and especially using her keen eye to look out for owls. She would be seen toting her binoculars in the car, just incase she spotted a beautiful bird. Most importantly, Pat was most fond of her family and spending time with those she loved.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Jane Dorr and husband, Francis of Indiana, Robin Hays and husband, John of Weedville, Dale Rishel of San Fransico, CA; a sister, Dorothy Auen and husband, Ed of Clarksburg, James Quick and wife, Pat of Indiana; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Patrcia was preceded in death by her husband Robert Merritt; a daughter Donna Price; a sister, Mary Crusan; three brothers, Clair Richard Quick, Paul Quick, Ronald Quick and a grandson, Joseph M. Lloyd.

Friends and family will be received from 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm - 8 pm on Thursday October 29, 2026 at the Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th St., Indiana. Additional visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am on Friday October 30, 2026 at the funeral home, with Pastor Steve Rearick officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Blairsville.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral costs.
