Paul Arden West, 84, of Blairsville, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 21, 2026.

He was born on December 26, 1941, in Blossburg, PA, to the late Earl C. and Edna R. (Putman) West.

Paul was a graduate of Wellsboro-Charleston Joint School, Class of 1959, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Agway Energy for more than 34 years until his retirement in 2004. After retiring from Agway, he continued working for many years as a driver for Smith Bus Company.

Paul was a member of the NRA and American Legion Post #0407, Blairsville, and was a faithful member of the Independent Baptist Church, Blairsville.

Paul is survived by his son, Gregory P. West of New York, NY; three daughters, Michele Kerr (Daniel) of Blairsville, Bethann Buchanan of Charleston, SC, and Rosemary Kirkpatrick (Anthony) of Mount Gilead, OH; 11 grandchildren, Joshua, Michael, Kathryn, Madalynne, Hope, Joy, Faith, Mason, Owen, Kaitlyn and Evelyn; five siblings, Lawrence West (Eileen) of Wellsboro, David West (Lori) of Waynesboro, Donald West (Lorraine) of Wellsboro, Louise Shirey of Columbia, TN, and Deborah Borden (Charles) of Wellsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Joyce G. (Fyock) West on September 15, 2010; a brother, Wilbur West; and grandchildren, Emma Lou Kerr, Emma Sue Kerr, and infant baby boy Kerr.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, September 24th in the funeral home with Steven Bost officiating.

Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
