Peter E. Kokolis

Peter Eugene Kokolis, 76, Blairsville, PA (Blacklick Twp.) passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

The son of Peter and Anna Marie (Bukosky) Kokolis, he was born February 18, 1949 in Coral, PA.

Peter graduated from Blairsville-Saltsburg High School in 1967 and attended EI Electronic School in Pittsburgh from 1967-1969. He used his electronics training in various positions as a quality control inspector for many years.

He was drafted into the United States Army, serving in Vietnam in 1970 and was awarded the Bronze Star.

Peter was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, VFW Post #1989, Indiana, Homer City American Legion #473 and played the alto saxophone in the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 Band from 1965 to 1972.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, building rockets and tying flies in his spare time.

Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Jane (Campbell) Kokolis whom he married January 9, 1971, a daughter, Ellen Marie O’Brien (Scott) of Connellsville, three grandchildren, Jordan, Marie and Declan and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James F. Kokolis.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a Wake Service will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 P.M. Prayers of Transfer will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. in SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, PA.

Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.

Blairsville Military Honor Guard will accord military honors.
