Robert "Bob" C. Conrad

Robert “Bob” C. Conrad, 87, of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at The Ridgewood at Shenango Valley, Hermitage. His short stay there filled him with joy.

A son of the late William E. and Pauline A. (Plott) Conrad, he was born Jan. 15, 1938, in Frederick, Okla.

Bob was raised in Davidson, Oklahoma on a working family farm with crops, dairy and beef cattle. A genuine cowboy, he even did a bit of bull riding. He graduated from Davidson High School and attended some college at Southwestern University in Weatherford, Okla. There he met the love of his life. He did a bit of truck driving, but his life was in the oil field. Experienced in both offshore and onshore drilling, he became a “road dog” salesman. He worked for Hughes Tool Company, Sovereign Supply, Bradford Pipe and Supply and Pool Well Services. He had ownership in CoReCo Fiberglass and served as a developer of Gaswell Workover LLC. For the 20 years before his retirement at the age of 81, he was an independent consultant in all areas of his field, innovating solutions and raising standards.

He is survived by three daughters: Kimberly K. Conrad, of Indiana; Karrie L. Tipton, of Indiana; Krista Wentz and husband Brian P., of Sharon; also a brother: Harold D. Conrad and wife Patty, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a grandson, Rob Tipton and fiancée Kristin Baresich, of Bridgewater Township, NJ; along with several cousins and 10 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Cordry) Conrad, and a brother, Dr. Roddy M. Conrad.

An avid fisherman and hunter, Bob enjoyed traveling and the outdoors. He cherished time with his camp family. Bob was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, The National Rifle Association and The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He had been a 17-year member of the Blue Spruce Chapter of Ducks Unlimited. Bob was proud to be a member of a group of colleagues self-named The Liar’s Club, and he was, in fact, true to his word.

Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th Street, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at Christ Episcopal Church, 902 Philadelphia Street, Indiana, with the Rev. William Geiger officiating. Inurnment will be held at Christ Church at a date to be determined.
