Robert W. Cribbs Jr., known to many as Pappy or Bob, passed away in his home in Fredericksburg, Virginia on July 1, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born on July 26, 1940, in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Bob always enjoyed being outside. He was a heavy equipment operator in Latrobe and a maintenance worker, groundskeeper in Fredericksburg.

He was happiest outdoors, especially on warm and sunny days. He found enjoyment tending to his garden and sharing its bounty with family and the neighbors. One of the many sights he will be remembered by is making laps on his scooter and red riding mower. He not only mowed his own yard but also his neighbors. Bob loved to decorate the exterior of his home with lights and inflatables. Bobs greatest gifts were his heart, smile, and his humor. A kind and outgoing man who could strike up a conversation with anyone.

To his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he was a source of love and laughter. His playful spirit never faded. Bob would always tell us that “Jesus helps me”. He would also say “I love you all.” He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Stella and father, Robert Sr. Cribbs; his first wife, Sandra Cribbs; his second wife, Marion Cribbs; his brother, John Cribbs.

He is survived by his brother, Stanley “Buck” Cribbs; sister Mary Ann Byce; nieces Kim Byce and Carol Miller; his son, Robert W. Cribbs III, “Bobby” and wife Kimberly Cribbs; his stepchildren, Michael Mihalko, Tammy Danek husband Michael; grandchildren Jessica Watters, Samantha Carrozza, Christopher Mihalko, Justin Mihalko, Megan Rivera, Michelle Rose.
