Roberta “Bobbie” Jean (McKee) Wasko, 82, of Blairsville, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Carnegie Park Post Acute Care in Carnegie, PA.
The daughter of Robert McKee and Edith (Bost) McKee, she was born on July 18, 1943, in Latrobe, PA.
Bobbie married Paul Wasko on October 26, 1968, and together they shared 47 years of happiness. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother of three children. Bobbie was a member of Saint Simon and Jude Catholic Church, where she sang and played guitar in the women’s choir. She was also a member the Catholic Daughters of the Americas #562. For fifty years she was known for selling Sarris Candy to most of Blairsville to raise money for the church. Bobbie was one of the “Grannies” at the Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and quilting clothing and blankets for the needy. She also enjoyed baking, canning, and gardening.
She is survived by her children, Hope Werner (Shaun) of McDonald, Shawn Wasko of Blairsville, and Wendy Wasko of Blairsville; three grandchildren, Alexis Paquin (Chris Gordon), Brandon (Hannah) Marshall, and Rachael (Luke) Makrinos; two great grandchildren, Lennon Marshall and Clara Marshall; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Wasko, on June 23, 2015; parents; sister, Janet Walker; stepsister, Martha Keith; stepbrothers, Malcom Dunlap, Dale Dunlap, Carl Dunlap, and Wilbur Dunlap; brother in law, Norman Walker; and nephew, Terry Wolford.
A visitation will be held at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a wake service at 7:30 PM. Prayers of transfer will take place at the funeral home on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 9:30 AM, followed by a funeral Mass at Saint Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Blairsville at 10:00 AM, Rev. Joseph Pham, OFM Cap. The interment will be held at Saint Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville.
