Rodger E. Evans

Rodger E. Evans, 82, of Indiana, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at home with his family by his side.

Born in Indiana on July 13, 1943, Rodger was the son of the late Clair W. and Leoda B. (Smith) Evans. Rodger lived his entire life in Indiana, except during his time serving in the US Army. Mr. Evans was employed at Fisher Scientific for 39 years.

Rodger will be missed by his “soul mate”, Claudia L. Shoenfelt, his daughter, Stacey L. Wyant, and Gary, of Kittanning, 3 grandchildren, Garrett, Gavin and Gillian, a great-grandson, Grant and all his extended family, John, Kelly, Briella and Mason Shoenfelt; a brother, Raymond and Mary Ann Evans of Texas, sister, Elaine Trusal of Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Rodger was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dean Evans.

Friends and family will be received on Monday June 29, 2026 from 11:00AM until the time of the service at 1:00PM at Robinson-Lytle-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 36 N 7th St., Indiana with Rev. Mark Griffith officiating. Military honors will be conducted following the service. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made in Rodger’s honor to the Indiana V.A. or Brush Valley Community Church.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the Heilman Cancer Center Staff, 365 Hospice and the Indiana Veterans Association.
