Russell Glenn Risinger, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at Saint Andrews Village, Indiana, Pennsylvania.
A lifelong Indiana County resident, Russ was born in Homer City on July 29, 1939, to John A. and Martha Jane (George) Risinger and graduated from Indiana High School in 1957. He served in the National Guard and worked as an equipment operator at Tomb Trucking Company for several years before joining the Pennsylvania American Water Company. After his retirement from the Water Company, Russ worked for Sharp Paving. He was a lifelong member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. Russ was an avid snowmobiler, enjoying the sport year-round. He spent many winter weekends at the family’s camp near Wilcox, Pennsylvania. Russ cherished these camp experiences with his family and friends. During the summer months, he and son Randy became involved in snowmobile watercross, traveling to many states and Canada for competition. Russ appreciated the beauty of nature in his travels to many states. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s many sporting events throughout the years. Russ always shared his home with his boxer dog companions for over 6 decades. His dog, Slugger, was his most recent pal.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eulene (Kuntz) Risinger, daughter Glenda (Risinger) Brewer, son Randy and wife Karen Risinger, and “adopted” son Joe Lubold. Russ is also survived by six grandchildren: Eric (Leanne) Brewer, Alex Brewer and fiancé Kendra Smith, Ethan Brewer, Megan (Dan) Aikins, Emily Risinger, Evan Risinger and one great-granddaughter, Elena Aikins.
Russ was preceded in death by brothers John and Bill Risinger, sister Georgena Wallace and son-in-law Gerald Brewer.
