Vickie was a generous and loving person and this showed through all she did for others.
Victoria “Vickie” Lynn Campbell Hammond Smith passed from this world on July 3rd, 2026. She was welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with a warm and loving hug. She was born on June 26, 1970. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Davis & Elkins College Honors Program with an Accounting Degree. Vickie was a generous and loving person and this showed through all she did for others. She was a “Ray of Sunshine” when she entered a room due to her beautiful smile and warm, friendly personality. She displayed her Christian faith in all she did whether it was making and delivering meals to those in need or through the various volunteer work she did. She was that “Good and Faithful Servant”, who gave all of herself. She was an incredible lady with a beautiful soul, who made the world a better place. Vickie volunteered her time, money and effort to many organizations over the years. She showed her support of people through her working with the Rotary Club, where she organized and participated in Roadside Litter Pickup Events and served as Treasurer. She showed her support of local history by volunteering as an Arthurdale Heritage Tour Guide. She showed her love of children by being a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) working tirelessly to unite children with their families and by reading to children at West Preston Elementary School. As a member of the Ladies Service League, she helped with their numerous projects to support the community. Vickie volunteered at the James Issac House Pregnancy Resource Center. She displayed her love of all God’s creatures through her work with the Preston County Humane Society as the Treasurer. She served on the WV State Republican Executive Committee. She loved her job and coworkers at the WV Botanic Garden. She loved her friends and family and made a point of nurturing her relationships by meeting for lunch, inviting friends and family to her home for dinner and sending Birthday and Christmas Cards. Vickie’s loving nature was always on display to her many friends and family. Vickie loved her church family at Harvest House and showed it by the warm hugs she gave everyone. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Donald (Don) Mark Smith, whom she enjoyed hiking, gardening and travelling with. She dearly be missed by her sister Jennifer (Jennie) Myers Campbell; her brother Roger Campbell and his wife Meagan; her brother-in-law Matthew Smith and his wife Melissa. Vickie had a special place in her heart for all her nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Myers, Seth Myers, Brett Smith, Courtney Smith and Aiden. Vickie was diehard Baltimore Ravens fan and a huge fan of Indy Car racing. She especially loved her kitty cats Lila, Isabella, Bandita and Raven. The family asks that instead of flowers you donate in her memory to the James Isaac House Pregnancy Resource Center, 431 Morgantown St, Kingwood, WV 26537. Friends and family are invited to Vickie’s memorial service August 8th at 11am at Harvest House Worship Center, 13573 S. Preston Highway (State Route 26), Tunnelton, WV just south on Kingwood.
