William Richard Zagrodnichek, 83, of Clarksburg, PA (Conemaugh Twp.), passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, at his home.
The son of William and Helen J. (Kozub) Zagrodnichek, he was born July 13, 1942, in McIntyre, PA.
William graduated from Elders Ridge High School, Class of 1960, and proudly served in the U.S. Army following graduation. He went on to work for Consol Energy for more than 25 years, where he was known for his steady work ethic, dependability, and pride in a job well done until his retirement.
William was a member of BPOE #406, Blairsville, and found great joy in his many years of involvement with the Indiana County Fair. He served as assistant superintendent of the Farm and Antique Home Displays and enjoyed exhibiting at the fair, sharing his appreciation for farming traditions, antiques, and the handiwork that reflected a lifetime of skill and care.
A gifted craftsman, William enjoyed being outdoors and spending time on metalworking projects. Whether through his work, his projects, or his contributions at the fair, he took pride in creating, repairing, and preserving things with his hands, leaving behind memories of dedication, patience, and quiet kindness.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Lois A. (Kwisnek) whom he married on April 25, 1970; his two sons, Christopher Zagrodnichek of Aurora, CO and Patrick Zagrodnichek (Anita) of Commerce City, CO; and four grandchildren, Hailey Music, Owen Zagrodnichek, Olivia Zagrodnichek, and Logan Zagrodnichek.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Jane Hoover.
Per William’s wishes there will be no visitation.
Friends are warmly encouraged to attend a graveside inurnment on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 11 AM at Ebenezer Cemetery, Clarksburg, PA.
Blairsville Military Honor Guard will accord military honors.
